Places To Visit,  Seoul

Bukchon Hanok Village

Hi everyone,

How is everyone? Hope that everyone is healthy, Alhamdulillah. It has been a very long time since I have written in this blog. As you can see, I have just transferred my blog from Blogspot to a self-hosted site for some learning curve.

Yes..
I am bored and need some kicks to spice things up in my life..hehe.

I am hoping that this humble blog will still be beneficial for
everyone planning to visit Korea. Enjoy…^^

Bukchon Hanok Village1

Well, today I want to tell you about the bus to Bukchon Hanok Village. Bukchon has been a very dear place to me and I miss it a lot!

Do you know that Lee Min Ho’s drama Personal Preference ( 개인의 취향) was shot at one of the Korean Traditional houses at Bukchon Hanok Village?

Yes…, you have to come here to experience that plus:

1-The pretty Korean Traditional house
2-To do some little hiking up the hill..hehe
3-To view the breathtaking sight once you reach up the hill (You must!).

Well..in order to do all of these, you need to know how to go to Bukchon Hanok Village, the cheaper way. Especially during winter, when it is very cold in Korea and you can benefit from the bus heater to escape the harsh weather outside.

If you have a lot of time, I do encourage you to walk up the hill from Insadong or Samcheongdong to Bukchon but if you just want to palli palli finish your course, take the Green bus number 02 near  the entrance/exit of Anguk Station Exit 6.

Green buses travel shorter distances (2 digit number bus – Maeul bus) and carry travelers between transfer points such as subway stations and longer bus routes ( 4 digit number bus). The Green bus 02 is actually a local area bus around Jongno area and the bus fare is only 900 won per ride (as of February 2016). You may use your T-Money card for the bus fare.

There is English announcement for Bukchon Hanok Village and once you hear it, just press the bell above the passenger seat. You will see a convenience store once you get off the bus.

Cross the road and that is your entrance to Bukchon Hanok Village. If you see the tourism officers in Red coat like them in the picture, get a map of Bukchon from them, ask them for directions and start your exploration! Hana, dul, set!

You may take the same Green bus number 02 to return to Insadong or Anguk Station, Line 3. You may also take the Green bus, number 01 to go to Jongno area but the bus will drop you off at another entrance of Insadong.
